Charleston Smiles: Creating a Fun Dental Experience for Your Children

Jun 24, 2016

Ever since Dr. Sam founded Charleston Smiles in 2008, we had only one goal: to make every child’s dental experience fun, informative and productive, all at the same time. We achieve this by encouraging our staff share this vision so that it reflects in the quality of our services and the environment we set up at our practice.

Dr. Sam received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Columbia College and his dental degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. Before establishing Charleston Smiles, he went to work at a children-only practice in North Charleston. Dr. Sam is an esteemed member of the South Carolina Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He is also an affiliate (general dentist) member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Sam  purchased an existing practice in West Ashley to found what is now, Charleston Smiles. In order to accommodate more patients and improve the office, a new office was built with the patients’ comfort in mind. Dr. Sam and the staff make sure that the office has a caring atmosphere to ease children that may have a little bit of anxiety when visiting the dentist. Here, patients can learn about oral hygiene, proper nutrition and cavity prevention in the utmost comfort, and with the help of a warm, friendly staff.

Charleston Smiles also takes the time and effort to personalize the dental care each patient receives. After all, no two children are alike in terms of dental needs. We provide comprehensive treatment planning to help each patient achieve the best results. Our approach is also focused on preventative care and education because we believe that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. With Dr. Sam  help, your child will get tailored care while also learning about preventative measures like flossing, routine cleaning and fluoride.

Going beyond the care we provide, we here at Charleston Smiles also do our best to establish a connection not only with the young patients, but also with their parents. We do this in order to help put your children at ease, so that when they grow up, they will not shy away from much needed dental visits and maintain a high regard for oral health.
